Do I need to speak English to access services?

Absolutely not. All of our services are available in Spanish and English. Our staff and volunteers are bilingual, and we are committed to ensuring language is never a barrier to receiving the help you deserve. Todos nuestros servicios están disponibles en español.

Do I need to be documented to receive services?

No. The Barrera Foundation serves all members of the Latino community regardless of immigration status. We do not ask for or require documentation to access our programs. Your safety and dignity are our priority.

How do I apply for services or programs?

Simply reach out to us using the contact form on this page, call us, or email thebarrerafoundation@gmail.com. Tell us which program you're interested in and a brief description of your situation, and our team will guide you through next steps. You can also be referred by a social worker, school, or healthcare provider.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. All information you share with The Barrera Foundation is treated with strict confidentiality. We never share your personal information with third parties without your explicit consent. We are committed to creating a safe, trusted environment for every family we serve.

How can I volunteer or donate?

We'd love your support! Visit our Get Involved page to explore volunteer roles, donate, partner with us as a business, or refer a family to our services. Every contribution — of time, money, or connections — makes a direct difference.

Is The Barrera Foundation a registered nonprofit?

Yes. The Barrera Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Salem, Oregon. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are funded through grants, individual donations, government contracts, and strategic partnerships.

Do you serve the whole Willamette Valley, or only Salem?

Our primary focus is the Salem metro area, but we aim to serve families throughout the broader Willamette Valley. If you are outside of Salem and unsure whether we can help, please reach out — we will do our best to connect you with the right resources.
